Fun and Encouraging Piano Lessons!
A well rounded music lesson should contain a number of key elements - one of the most important of which is laughter! A music student no matter what the age, should leave the lesson with a positive attitude and sense of confidence to practice the music that was presented. Through the years, I have heard so many adults say that they wish they would have continued their lessons when they were young. One of the main reasons they quit was because of the lack of choice of interesting music.
At Danica Jessie's Music Studio my focus for my students is to build a strong foundation, so they are able to concentrate on the music they wish to play! A typical lesson will include ear-training, sight reading, rhythm work, playing with drum beats, and theory. Singing is encouraged but is optional.
Lessons start the last week in August and go to the end of May. Lessons are held once a week for 30 minutes. One hour lessons are available as well. Students may enroll any time throughout the year. Lessons into June as well as summer classes are available.

Concerts
Two concerts are held per school term allowing students to perform their favourite songs. These are usually held in December and the end of April or early May.
No need to be shy here!
At Danica Jessie's Music Studio, concerts are a very relaxed, fun atmosphere! They are typically held in a church with a full concert grand piano, so lots of photo ops are available for parents and there is plenty of seating for friends and family. As students get to pick their own recital music, the concert list is always a great mix of contemporary rock and pop songs. You might hear anything from disney to Ed Sheeran!
Students may perform more than one song if they wish as well as perform in duets, trios, and ensembles. I always keep the concert list up in the studio so the students can see what others may be playing. They are always excited to hear the other performances and are often inspired to learn those songs as well. There are no duplicates allowed on the concert programs, so note to parents of younger girls, you will not have to listen to 10 performances of "Let it Go".
